What Is Fashion?

Fashion in all its many areas is a billion dollar industry. It is one of the most visible and profound presents in our society.  A few weeks ago I had the privilege of going behind the scene of a photo shoot. The beauty, style, and creative art was amazing. When I walked on set at 5 am that morning I felt as though it was the realization of a dream.

There is a pervasive power in fashion which is influential, transcending and people spend thousands of dollars every year to look good.   Many feel that fashion define and shape a person’s view of themselves, but I believe that point could be argued.

Fashion has always been what individuals consider cool, stylish, beautiful and entertaining.  People are always captivated by fashion and style and who is wearing what.

What we as society consider attractive and stylish is not a trivial matter, as it reflects significantly on what we value and what we consider impactful.

Fashion statements are, as their name suggests an invitation to a conversation- one that we would do well to take seriously, because it is a money making industry.

Good fashion is a great investment of your time, energy and money because it energizes you in many ways.  When you feel good about how you look, it makes you feel effective and powerful in all things that you do.

Fashion is unique in that it is a form of communication.  You are relating to other who you are and what is important to you, there is a persona that resonates that is unlike what other individuals possess.
